“God, you’re such a dork,” TK groans, ducking under the arm Carlos lifts for him and sighing into the kiss that’s planted on his cheek as Carlos’s arm wraps around his shoulders.

It doesn’t matter how long they’ve been together, how tired he is, what stresses are going on in their life, Carlos’s arms will always be his safe space. His area of refuge. Even during times of tension between them, there’s never anywhere else that makes him feel as grounded and secure as he does in his husband’s embrace.

“You love it,” Carlos chuckles, ghosting his lips across TK’s forehead and down the bridge of his nose before softly pressing their lips together. TK feels himself relax further, letting himself enjoy this moment, being kissed by his husband in the bright, beautiful kitchen of their new home.

Paul and Asha are in the middle of a thing when they attend Tarlos’s housewarming party; Carlos has a moment of reflection on fatherhood, and Uncle Paul must come to Jonah’s rescue when he has an accident.

All it takes is a tiny nod of TK’s head and the hint of a smile for confidence to flood into Carlos. He turns back to face Hades. “I accept.” He shakes his hand and feels the weight of the agreement wash over him.

Carlos has to guide TK, Persephone, and the workers of the Underworld back to the mortal world in a single file line and never look back until they all reach the surface. No one can speak or touch Carlos. If he does, they all be bound back to the Underworld and Carlos will never see TK again.
