Peter stood on top of the jungle gym in the playground, arms stretched wide, gaze to the ground, and Nathan ran quicker than he ever had in his life. He knew what Peter was thinking, knew what he was doing, but he knew his brother hadn’t thought about what would happen if he couldn’t fly. His little brother’s feet left the solid surface, and Nathan pushed forward, just grabbing him before his tiny body hit the ground. “Nathan! I was playing Superman!” Peter complained, and Nathan held him close.

Kissing the top of his head, he whispered, “This isn’t the couch, Peter.”
